After a video about the Lesner VS Cena match last night, John Laurinitis came out and talked about how he revolutionized the industry and how Brock Lesner beat Cena. Then Lesner came out and talked about it. But before he said much, Triple H's music hit.
Hunter said he was there to do what Laurinitis should have been doing, and that is stop Lesner from taking Raw hostage. He said that all the stuff Lesner demanded last week wasn't going to happen. Johnny said that HHH had given him the authority to do that, but he said that he didn't. He said that he wanted Brock there and so did the fans. Laurinitis kept getting involved and when Triple H turned to yell at him, Lesner attacked. Several faces ran down and chased off Lesner as HHH sold an arm injury.
Later in the show they said that Lesner had been escorted out of the building and Hunter taken to a "Nearby Medical Facility" and still later they announced that Triple H's arm had been broken.
Even though they kept showing the footage from last night of John Cena saying he might be taking some time off, but then Cena came out with his arm in a sling They said that he had suffered multiple muscle strains, but no permanent damage. Laurinitis made his way to the ring and said that he brought Lesner in and called him the new face of WWE to push Cena to the limit. Cena thanked him and then insulted him, calling him an idiot and said his head was so far up his butt that he flossed with toilet paper. Then he introduced Cena's opposition, Alber....Lord Tensai. But wait! It's a trap! They all attack Cena and Laurinitis announced that he was Cena's opponent. They continued the assault, which ended with Tensai holding Cena's arm in place as Laurinitis nailed it with a steel chair on the steps.
After the commercial break, Eve came out and announced that there will be a Beat The Clock challenge to determine the #1 contender.
The Miz defeated Santino Marella
Miz took on Santino Marella in the first match. Santino beat Miz last night to retain the US title during the Pre-Show, so Santino still has the title. Both men got some several near falls. At 3:45, Santino brought out the Cobra, but Miz ducked it and ended up connecting with the Skull Crushing Finale, setting the time to beat at 4:18.
Layla defeated the Bella Twins to retain the Divas Championship
Triple Threat Match pitting the Bella Twins against each other. this should be interesting, because the Bellas are dressed the same, except a minor difference in their hair. They argued and Layla kicked on into the other to knock one out of the ring and then rolled the one she kicked up for the win to retain the Diva's Title.
Chris Jericho VS Big Show went to a Time Limit Draw
Chris Jericho took on Big Show in the next Beat The Clock challenge. Show shook a kid's hand on the way to the ring. I think his hand was about as big as Show's pinky. Show took control of the match from the bell, getting a near fall before Jericho nailed him with a dropkick about 45 seconds into the match. Y2J went up top and Show smacked him down in mid air. then Show went for a splash, only for Jericho to dodge it. Jericho got a 2 count after the Lionsault about 2:30 into the match.Jericho started hitting Show while telling Stay down, but Show got up and tackled him. They went outside abd fought for a while as the ref made the count. Jericho made it back into the ring as the ref kept counting, seemingly reaching 10 as teh timer reached 0. He said that he reached ten with 1 second left on the clock, but it went to a review as Raw went to a commercial. After the commercial they annoounced that Jericho didn't beat the clock and so Miz is still in the lead.
Brodus Clay beat JTG
The Funkasaurous came out for his match, and he didn't have Hornswaggle with this time. JTG is jobbing to him this time. JTG apparently said that he had a plan to beat Brodus What ever it was, it didn't work because Clay beat him after a big splash. After the match Clay called a few kids who were at ring side to dance with him.
Randy Orton Defeated Jack Swagger
Randy Orton took on Jack Swagger int he third Beat The Clock Challenge.Orton quickly took control, scoring the first near fall about 10 seconds into the match. Swagger finally took control of the match, but with a minute left in the match, Orton recovered. He connected with the RKO and got the with with 2 seconds left on the clock.
Kofi Kingston and R-Truth defeated Primo and Epico to become the Tag Team Champions.
The Tag Team Championships were on the line next as Primo and Epico took on R-Truth and Kofi Kingston. Primo started the match off against R-Truth and he started a conversation with Little Jimmy before kicking him, which made Truth mad. causing him to attack Primo before knocking him out of the ring as Raw went to commercial break After the commercial break, not much had changed. Epico tagged in and continued the assault on Truth. Truth mounted a come back as Primo tagged back in, but it didn't last long (Meanwhile Lil Jimmy was trending on Twitter and Cole revealed that he had an imaginary friend that didn't like talking to him) Finally Truth tagged in Kofi as Primo tagged in Epico. He nailed him with Trouble In Paradise and got the pin to win the Tag Team Championships.
Kane VS Great Khali ended in a Time Limit Draw
The fourth Beat The Clock Challenge saw The Great Khali taking on Kane. Kane spent most of the match in control, but couldn't get the pin. Khali made a comeback with about 50 seconds left, and the fight went outside the ring. Back in the ring both men went for the chokeslam, but the timer ran out before either could get it off. After the match Kane chockslammed Khali
Daniel Bryan defeated Jerry "The King" Lawler
The final Beat The Clock Challenge was Daniel Bryan VS Jerry Lawler. Bryan seemed rather happy about that. Bryan controlled most of the first half of the match, a misted splash in the corner gave Lawler time to climb the ropes and connect with the fist drop. He only got a two count. He went for the Piledriver, but Bryan escaped and locked in the Yes Lock, forcing Lawler to tap out with 1:55 to go. Bryan will take on CM Punk at Over The Limit.
Best Segment Of The Night--Kofi Kingston and R-Truth VS Primo and Epico for the tag titles
Worst Segment Of The Night--Triple Threat Match for the Diva's championship
Thoughts
Cole made the comment about King leaving during the commercial when he came out for his match against Bryan. Didn't he notice he was dressed to wrestle? Of course he didn't notice that both King or Booker T were in their gear at the Royal Rumble so probably not. Great job there Mr. Broadcast Journalist.
They advertised a tag match for Smackdown. Daniel Bryan and Kane VS Randy Orton and Sheamus. That should be good
I'm pretty sure Primo was staring at Rosa's butt as they made their way to the ring. Don't blame him one bit. Just pointing it out.
After the match they agreed to work with Abraham Washington, who had promised he could get them more TV time. As he was saying that they wouldn't have lost if he had been there, they cut him off and went to the ring. He is ding a great job so far.
Eve looks good regardless of what she is wearing, Damn! She looks even better with glasses om.
Can I punch the kids behind King and Cole? they were annoying any time they were on camera. And I am pretty sure Cole gave that one kid the pro-Cole sing. Either that or mom/dad knew they would be behind the announcers.
The Bella's were "fired" Apparently they didn't sing new contracts. If past Divas being fired is any indicator, then I fell sorry for Daniel Bryan. (He is dating Nikkie) Dolph Ziggler doesn't have much to worry about though. the "Dated A Fired Diva" curse seems to have gotten him long before Brie left.
Forgot JTG was still in WWE. and was it just me or did the mic pick up one of them giving the other directions during the match?
Can I list the Diablo 3 ad as the segment of the night?
So I'm guessing there might be a match between Triple H and Lesner coming at some point.
Why was Triple H limping after suffering an arm injury?
With just 1 match (at the time) announced, I already can't wait for Over The Limit. Bryan VS Punk could very well be the best match of the year.
